Case Study - Dry Rot, Ravenhill Road, Belfast.

Carried out a survey on a property where the Customer reported the floor throughout downstairs felt soft.  On inspection, we found Dry Rot had contaminated the entire wooden floor. Dry rot is caused in poorly ventilated conditions providing the perfect environment for fungal growth.

The only viable solution was to remove all the wooden flooring throughout the downstairs of the property to expose the joists that were contaminated and beyond repair. We replaced this using crusher run stone to build up the height, followed by a concrete base and Kingspan insulation, completing it with a floor screed.

Due to the method we used this will eliminate any chance of dry rot or weakened floor reoccurring in the future, creating lifetime results from the solid concrete insulated base. The Kingspan insulation used also increased thermal efficiency throughout the downstairs of the property.
